The bakery is coming to life!

In the past few months I've graduated from culinary school, have traveled to St. Louis and Indiana and have signed a Letter of Agreement for a retail space in Coppell. Our plan is to have our bakery/cafe/coffee shop opened by the end of May but with the delays in signing the lease it's looking more and more like early June which does not make Mr. Man very happy.

In the meantime we've catered our first party, which was a Casino Night theme for a 40th Birthday party.

This is the centerpiece we made for the dessert table. 

 and, in keeping with the theme, we decorated some of the cake balls as dice.

These are sugar cookies with Royal Icing and sugar overlays to look like playing cards.

Next week we have our first catering job for a conference at the University of Texas at Arlington which will be attended by a number of my past clients and candidates from my past as an executive recruiter to the market research industry.  It will be so much fun and good to see so many long time friends.

Our blog will eventually move to our new bakery website, so stay tuned and we'll give you plenty of notice. In the meantime we'll be doing what we love....baking.
